I do not accept insurance directly and operate on a cash-pay basis. However, if you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide you with the necessary documentation to submit a claim to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. I recommend checking with your insurance company to understand your specific out-of-network coverage and reimbursement options.

Play therapy sessions are offered in person as play-based work is most effective when children can engage fully with the therapeutic space and materials. In-person sessions take place at the office in Estes Park.
Individual therapy for teens and adults is available both in person and via telehealth. Telehealth services are offered to clients located anywhere in the state of Colorado. Please note that, due to licensing regulations, clients must be physically in Colorado at the time of their telehealth session.

Play therapy begins with one parent intake session without the child present to gather history, understand concerns, and discuss goals.
This is followed by 4–6 play therapy sessions focused on assessment and relationship-building, allowing your child to become comfortable in the therapy space while the clinician gains a deeper understanding of their needs and strengths.
The treatment phase then continues for as long as is clinically appropriate, with sessions tailored to support your child’s emotional growth, regulation, and healing.
When your child is ready to transition out of therapy, 2–3 closing sessions help reinforce progress, support a thoughtful ending, and provide a sense of closure for both the child and caregivers.

Play is a child’s natural language. Through play, children communicate thoughts and emotions that may be hard to put into words. Symbolic and imaginative play allows children to safely explore experiences, revisit emotional memories, and make sense of their world in developmentally appropriate ways. Both direct skill-building and metaphor-based storytelling emerge organically through play, supporting learning and integration.
-
Play provides a safe outlet for releasing big emotions and working through overwhelming or confusing experiences. It allows children to process stress, reduce fear and anxiety, and experiment with new emotional responses. Play also makes space for joy, creativity, and laughter, which are all important components of healing that support regulation and overall emotional well-being
-
Within an attuned therapeutic relationship, play helps children experience safety, trust, and connection. Consistent, responsive interactions support healthy attachment patterns, improve social skills, and build empathy. Through play, children practice communication, emotional awareness, and relational skills that translate beyond the therapy room.
-
Play therapy supports problem-solving, flexibility, and self-regulation while fostering confidence and self-esteem. Children are encouraged to explore choices, practice coping skills, and develop a more empowered sense of self in a nonjudgmental environment. Over time, play supports growth across emotional, social, cognitive, and developmental domains.
